The Sunrise Fund is unique in that it is both hospital and community based; we consider ourselves to be a community resource. In order for us to succeed, we need the support and input of those interested individuals in the community. It will take the dedication and hard work of the staff of Stony Brook University Medical Center and the support of countless individuals who believe that there is nothing more precious than the life of a child.

The Sunrise Fund invites you to learn more about volunteer opportunities. Join one of our exciting events or host your own to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer survivors. Your time, energy and generosity will be greatly appreciated!!

Knights of Columbus 10th Annual Charity Drive Ball
6/2011 The Suffolk Chapter of the Knight of Columbus raised $21,000 for the Sunrise fund! Click here to view a photo of the event.
A Cut For A Cure
5/2/11 Many thanks to Finale Salon in Setauket. They volunteered their time cutting kids hair and raised over $2,000 for the Sunrise fund! The community came out for a fun filled day. Click here to view a photo of the event.
The Three Village School District supports the Sunrise Fund and Play Fit-Stay Fit!
4/19/11 The Three Village School District is conducting a school-based fundraiser for the Sunrise Fund and Play Fit-Stay Fit! called "Get Your Gold On". In honor of childhood cancer awareness, gold shoe laces are being sold in the Three Village Schools and the local community. To date, over 700 pairs have been sold with a goal of selling 1500 laces by mid-May. If you would like to order laces, please contact Tracey Bogush at tracey@bnfcontractors.com or
516-312-4102. Laces are $4/pair and come in 40", 54", and 72" lengths.
Sunrise Fund - A New Day for Children with Cancer Calendar
12/17/10 The full color 2011 Sunrise Fund Calendar is officially available! For a donation of $20 (or more) you will be helping children fighting cancer right here on Long Island. Your donation is also tax deductible. To order a calendar, please call (631) 444-2899 during normal business hours.

09/18/08 Sunrise Fund Receives Historic Grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to Help Kids with Cancer
Sunrise Fund Benefits from Local Fundraising Events
09/20/08 The Three Strohm Sisters Foundation hosted a "Halfway to St. Patrick's Day Celebration" on September 20th to generate awareness and funds for our pediatric cancer program. Held in memory of Edward J. Strohm Sr., the evening raised over $6,000. The Sunrise Fund also benefited from part of the proceeds generated from the Smithtown Spirit Soccer Team's summer golf outing. The Soccer players presented Dr. Robert Parker with a check for $5,000 to be used pediatric for oncology.
