Respiratory Care Program News

Program Highlights

We are pleased to announce that our newly developed polysomnography program received accreditation from CoARC in April 2005, making it the first university based program nationwide to do so.

Thanks to our alumni, faculty, staff and students, who have donated more than $2000 to our educational equipment fund. Your generosity has enabled us to purchase new computer projectors and a screen for the teaching labs. Planning for major renovations of the teaching labs is underway, with refurbishment of the medical gas system expected to start later this fall.

Faculty News

Our faculty continues to pursue advanced degrees while meeting the demands of their teaching responsibilities. Professor Lisa Johnson has received her master's degree from Stony Brook University in Health Care Policy and Management, while professors Tom Smalling and Ken Axton expect to complete their doctorate degrees at NYU in the very near future.

Rozensky, who managed the Sleep Studies Center at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY for many years, has recently joined our faculty on a full time basis.
