Spring/Summer 2007  — Make a Gift —

KATHY ALBIN

Kathy started in the School of Social Welfare in 1979, and moved into the Office of Admissions and Student Services in 1984.  She was promoted to her present position as Director of Admissions and Student Services in 1999.  Kathy is much more than her title depicts.  She is a primary resource for information for students, staff and faculty.  She is an ambassador for the School through her work on the admission process.  Her warmth and competency is acknowledged by potential applicants, adding to their positive perception of this School’s culture.  Her commitment and emphasis on quality services makes her one of the most popular individuals in the School.  Many characterize her work as essential to the efficient running of the social work program.  She is responsive to student needs, assisting them with the most challenging issues around admission, curriculum, and registration. She is indispensable to faculty with her wealth of information, university contacts and quick humor in the face of chaos.  As Kathy looks to the future, she sees new opportunities that will be presented by distance learning programs and the expansion of the BSW program.  There is no question that Kathy is up to any challenge presented.
