The position of class agent is an opportunity to reconnect with your classmates in a meaningful way. Every graduating class needs at least one class agent, but two are preferred, to advocate on the school's behalf to their class and to serve as an ambassador of the dean, faculty and students. Your first hand experiences at the school and your friendship with your classmates make you the best person for this voluntary advocacy and fundraising position. You can also help with class reunions and other class focused events.
With your knowledge and appreciation of the superior dental education you received at Stony Brook you can help engage your dental school friends in alumni activities and school related programs. When you make your own gift to the school you can inspire others to financially back the fundraising efforts to maintain excellence and leadership in dental education at Stony Brook. The School of Dental Medicine will supply you with the most current contact information on your classmates, and assist you as help us promote the value and importance of your dental education to those who shared your experience.
Your personal thank you note or letter of encouragement may be all that is needed to engage a classmate in supporting the school or to increase the size of a gift. As the class agent you maybe asked to help identify potential donors from your class and possibly the wider community.
