Becoming a Patient...

Dental students and residents of the School of Dental Medicine provide a full range of dental services at the Dental Care Center, under the direct supervision of faculty members who are licensed dentists. To have your oral health needs assessed at the Dental Care Center, please schedule a Screening Appointment by calling (631) 632-8989

The Screening Appointment...

To make a screening appointment, please call (631) 632-8989 or visit the Dental Care Center between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. A nominal fee is charged for this visit.

At the screening appointment, you will complete a medical history form and a radiograph will be taken if appropriate. If you have had radiographs taken within the last two years, please bring them with you to the appointment.

During this appointment, a faculty member will evaluate your oral health needs and determine if you are eligible for care at the Dental Care Center. Patients accepted for care will be assigned to a specific student or resident clinical program based on the complexity of treatment required.

The focus of the mission of our school is to nurture academic and clinical excellence in our students to become competent, caring professionals; to advance knowledge through scientific and clinical research; and to perform community service.
