Professor Whitton earned a bachelor of science in radiologic technology from Long Island University in 1980. He is licensed by the New York State Department of Health and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography, and he holds advanced certification in both computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). He has also served as president for the New York State Society of Radiologic Sciences and as a delegate for the American Society of Radiologic Technology. In addition, Professor Whitton has been an educator in radiological sciences and medical imaging since 1990.
