List of Courses by Year


Junior Year

Coursework includes a selection of required basic sciences and professional courses. Clinical rotations consisting of full-time clinical instruction and field experience are scheduled at commercial and hospital laboratories affiliated with the Health Sciences Center at Stony Brook. These rotations provide students with substantive opportunities to reinforce and further develop the technical and behavioral skills needed in the clinical laboratory setting while under the supervision of clinical faculty.

Junior Year Required Basic Science And Professional Courses


Senior Year

This year consists of additional professional courses, a second clinical rotation and the opportunity for each student to carry out a specific research project. Specialized clinical practica in Histocompatibility and Immunology are available to selected students. The combination of basic science, professional, and clinical coursework provides the foundation for new graduates to fully integrate the practice of clinical laboratory sciences with current health care practices and management issues.
