Cytotechnology Admission Requirements


The Cytotechnology program at Stony Brook University is an upper-division program leading to a Bachelor of Science degree and the School's Certificate of Professional Achievement for Cytotechnologists. Applicants to the Cytotechnology Program must have the following prerequisites:

  • a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (on a scale of 4.0)
  • completion of at least 57 college credits (with minimum grades of C or better in each course from transfer institutions) and including:

Mathematics 3

All science courses must include a laboratory and be designated for science majors, and must have been completed within the past seven years.
