All applicants to the graduate programs are carefully reviewed by the program's admissions committee. Candidates are selected on demonstrated ability to succeed academically, quality of work experience, references, and motivation for selecting this program.
Graduate programs include a Master of Science degree in Health Care Policy and Management (36 credits) or an Advanced Certificate in Health Care Management (18 credits).
Applications will be available on line in late October. There are no paper applications; all applications must be submitted electronically. See “application instructions” for the link to our applications.
Applications for the Master’s or Advanced Certificate must be
completed and submitted by February 15, 2008. Late applications will not be considered.
GRE’s are required for the Master’s. GRE’s must be taken by February 15, 2008. Tests taken after that date will not be considered (you would have an incomplete file and you will not be accepted into the program). GRE test scores that are older than five years as of February 15, 2008, will not be accepted. (GRE’s may be waived if an applicant has completed a graduate degree prior to applying; this graduate degree must be from an accredited university.)
Official transcripts from any and every college you have ever attended must be submitted. (You do not need to request a Stony Brook transcript; Fran Shaw or Regina Biasetti will download this for you. If you transferred to Stony Brook, all previous transcripts must be submitted for the Health Care Policy degree program.) Three references are also required; the reference forms can be downloaded from the on-line application main screen. All documents must be sent to Office of Student Services. If you receive a transcript or reference at your home, DO NOT OPEN it. Forward the SEALED envelope to:
Office of Student Services

After applications and supporting documentation have been received, the Health Care Policy and Management’s admissions committee will review all files. Applicants who are accepted into our program will be notified in late April.
