your scores in order to consider your application

Incomplete applications will not be considered.  Make sure all necessary paperwork is submitted with your application.

Applications are completed on line. You may obtain applications by going to Office of Student Service’s web site:
http://www.uhmc.sunysb.edu/studserv/applyhsc.html

The Master’s Program requires GRE’s.  Official GRE scores must be received in order to review your application.  Go to http://www.gre.org for test sites and dates.  (GRE’s may be waived if an applicant has completed an accredited American graduate program; this graduate program must be completed prior to applying.) Anyone receiving a 3.0 or less on the writing section of the GRE’s will be required to complete a writing diagnostic program during the semester of the year you are accepted. Completion of diagnostic coursework is required prior to advancing to additional courses.

Applicants must have completed one year of full-time health-related work experience prior to application being submited.  If you are currently working and are close to the one year of work experience in the health care industry, please contact us.

A bachelor’s degree must be completed prior to applying.

Non Matric

If you would like to take classes in the spring or the fall and you missed the application deadline, you may sign up as a non-matriculated student.  Under “Forms” you will find the necessary paperwork. Please contact Fran Shaw at 631-444-3240 if you need assistance.

Non-matriculated students are permitted to register for up to 12 credits.   (Twelve credits is the maximum number of credits you are permitted to take as a non-matriculated student.)  These 12 credits may be transferred to the Master’s Program.  You can download the non-matriculated form from our website. The maximum number of credits a non-matric student can take in one semester is six.

If you begin as a non-matriculated student, you must apply to either the Master’s Program or the Certificate Program by the next application deadline.   Please check our website for the online application for the Advanced Certificate and/or Master's.
