Research & Scholary Activities

Professor Vanner received a bachelor’s degree cum laude from Harvard College with a major in Biochemical Sciences. After working for a year at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston, she earned a joint Master of Science degree in Health Policy & Management and Biostatistics at the Harvard School of Public Health. After moving to New York, she worked for several consulting firms, assisting hospitals with billing, reimbursement, and information systems. While she was out of the workforce caring for her son, she took several courses at SUNY SB Harriman Business School. She joined the Occupational Therapy faculty to teach the graduate statistics course and now also co-teaches the Research Design course. She assists students and faculty with research study design and data analysis for quantitative research projects and helps prepare research for publication.

Liz enjoys alumni recruiting and interviewing for her alma mater, music, reading, and traveling, especially to Civil War battlefields and reenactments.
