Stony Brook, Long Island (Main Campus):

Stony Brook University (Main Campus) is situated on a 1,100 acre site (see campus maps) on the north shore of Long Island in Suffolk County. We are approximately 60 miles east of New York City.

By Car
Take the Long Island Expressway east to exit 62 north (which is Nicholls Road). The University Hospital is 13 miles due north of LIE Exit 62 (Nicholl's Road). Remain on Nicholls Road and when you cross over route 347 you are going to the second traffic light and making a right (there will be signs for the Hospital and emergency room). At the next light make a left and go into the hospital parking garage. Walk into the main lobby of the hospital go towards the cafeteria. You will see escalators to the right of the entrance of the cafeteria. At this point you are on level 5 of the Health Sciences Center. Proceed down to level two via the escalators.

You can also get to the university by using the Northern State, Southern State, Route 347, Route 25, Route 25A, Route 27 and route 27A. Please call the program at 631-444-3190 and press 6 for specific directions from these or any other location.

By Train
Take the Long Island Railroad's Port Jefferson line from Penn Station in Manhattan to Stony Brook. The LIRR station is at the north end of the campus; bus service to the central campus is provided. (This will vary depending on day of week and semester.) Trains to and from Penn generally require transfers at Jamaica or Huntington. Hicksville is also a transfer point on some lines.

From New York City you can take the train to the Stony Brook stop which lets you off on campus. You would then take a free campus bus to the hospital.

Stony Brook Manhattan:

Stony Brook Manhattan is located at 110 East 28th Street (between Park Ave. South and Lexington Ave), 2nd Floor (directly beneath the large blue Stony Brook Manhattan banner.) It is easily accessible via New York City public transit.

By Car
Take the Long Island Expressway (LIE, I-495) westbound to the Queens Midtown Tunnel. After going through the tunnel, bear left towards downtown. Make the first left onto 33rd Street and then the next right onto Second Avenue. Make a right onto East. 27th Street. Make a right onto Park Ave. Make a right onto E. 28th Street. The location is 110 East 28th Street. Proceed to the second floor. Phone number is 646-472-2000.
