Karen Dybus

After receiving a bachelor’s
degree in biology from Princeton University, Karen Dybus continued her education
at Stony Brook University. Professor Dybus received a second bachelor’s
in physician assistant education and a master’s in Health Care Policy
and Management with a concentration in Community Health Education.
Karen is licensed by the National Commission on Certification of Physician
Assistants (NCCPA).
Professor Dybus has served on Stony Brook’s
PA Admission and Scholarship Committees. She has served as a member and
as chair of the Quality Assurance/Risk Management Committee. Karen is
a frequent guest lecturer for the PA program, speaking on such topics
as pap smears, adolescent patient care, and sexual assault. She has also
been a lecturer to the University staff community, speaking on topics
ranging from lifestyle behavior change to communication skills for employees.
Karen is currently a physician assistant with
Stony Brook’s Student
Health Services.
During her free time, Karen enjoys crafts, reading, volunteer work,
and spending time with her two children.
