Entry-Level Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program

• The Entry-Level Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program accepts 65 students each year.

• All applications are carefully reviewed by the Physical Therapy program Admissions Committee. Each candidate is evaluated on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, academic achievement, references, demonstrated concern for others, and commitment to the profession. Selected applicants are invited for personal interviews.

• Stony Brook University Physical Therapy Program uses the PHYSICAL THERAPY CENTRALIZED APPLICATION SERVICE (PTCAS)

• Stony Brook University Physical Therapy Program requires a SUPPLEMENTAL ADMISSIONS APPLICATION.

INTEVIEW DATES FOR 2011-2012:

• September 16, 2011 – Early Decision ONLY
• December 9, 2011
• January 28, 2012
• February 24, 2012

Please adhere to the PTCAS application submission dates and Program dates for submission of supplemental application for consideration for interviews. 

Keep in mind that PTCAS application processing takes several weeks particularly during peak application periods (December and January).

EARLY DECISION:   NEW THIS YEAR!

Stony Brook University Physical Therapy Program will participate in an early decision process.  All pre-requisite science coursework, GRE scores, and references must be complete at time of application submission to PTCAS.

The early decision process is binding: a candidate may not apply to additional programs via PTCAS once accepted to our program via early admission. If not accepted during the early admission process, the student will be permitted to go back into the PTCAS system for the regular admissions process during the current application cycle.

Early decision applicants must apply and submit all documents to PTCAS by August 15, 2011.

REGULAR ADMISSION:

The PTCAS Application Deadline is December 15, 2011.

Applications submitted past this date will NOT be considered.

Supplemental applications must be received in the program offices 2 weeks prior to interview dates to be invited for interview.
