Dr. Lamberg attended Ithaca College, earning a Baccalaureate of Science degree in Clinical Science in 1996 and a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 1997. He began his clinical career in a hospital based physical therapy department at North Shore University Hospital. In 2002, he pursued graduate education, earning his Master of Education (EdM, 2002) and Doctorate of Education (EdD, 2005) in Movement Science at Teachers College, Columbia University. Following his graduate education, Dr. Lamberg became a faculty member of the physical therapy program at Long Island University, Brooklyn campus.
After three years, Dr. Lamberg moved to Long Island and joined the Stony Brook University physical therapy family where he currently teaches in the Entry-Level Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program. Eric is a certified Pedorthist (C.Ped) and teaches in the area of Prosthetics and Orthotics. His research interests include breath control during functional activities, such as full-body and single extremity lifts and tip toe posture, clinical measurements involving classification of posture, childhood wellness, and the use of various orthoses/prostheses to facilitate function. Dr. Lamberg has published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at the national and international levels.
Dr. Lamberg is the principle investigator of Move your Feet! - A school-based wellness program. Made possible by a mini-grant from the School of Health Technology and Management and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, this program is geared toward improving physical fitness and nutrition of 3rd-4th graders in a local elementary school.
