Post-Professional (Transition) Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program

International Students

Admission to a graduate program requires that the applicant has the preparation and ability to enable satisfactory progress in the degree program.

Applicants who are not United States citizens or who do not hold permanent resident status should contact Office of Student Services at 631-444-2111 before applying. The Physical Therapy Department does not offer stipends or scholarships to foreign applicants and does not have teaching assistant positions.

If a foreign applicant chooses to apply to the Post-Professional (Transition) Doctorate in Physical Therapy Program, the following documents will need to be submitted (all documents MUST be ORIGINALS):

  • Foreign transcripts must be evaluated by an accredited credentialing agency such as FCCPT or World Education Services (WES). You must request a course-by-course evaluation.
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is required if English is not your first language.
  • Photocopy of F1 Visa Status documentation

In addition to the above listed documents, see the admissions requirements for the Post-Professional (Transition) Doctorate in Physical Therapy program. Visit Stony Brook’s Graduate Bulletin web site for additional information.
