Respiratory Care Program

Welcome to the Respiratory Care Program

Application Deadline Extended to 03/31/09 !

Looking for an exciting career in health care where you can make an immediate difference in the quality of life of your patients? If you have an aptitude for technology and enjoy working with people, the Respiratory Care Program may be the right choice for you. Respiratory therapists are health care practitioners who play an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart, lung and sleeping disorders. They use “high-tech” equipment and therapies to care for people of all ages. Respiratory therapists work in many different settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, clinics, physician offices, or the patient’s home. Our website is designed to help you understand what you would need to do to become a respiratory therapist. We have also included information about the excellent job opportunities you will have as a graduate of this program.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions. I look forward to helping you become a respiratory therapist and enabling you to provide the “breath of life” for your patients.

Sincerely,

James A. Ganetis, MS, RRT-NPS
Chair, Division of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Sciences
Program Director, Respiratory Care and Polysomnography
