Respiratory therapists are health care practitioners who play an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart, lung and sleeping disorders. They use “high-tech” equipment and therapies to care for people of all ages. Respiratory therapists work in many different settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, clinics, physician offices, or the patient’s home.
