- New course Proposal for Ambulatory Neurology, with special emphasis on Neuromuscular
Disease, was presented. Dr. Kritzer stated her opinions and the floor was opened for comments from the committee. More detail
was requested re:
- Content
- Objectives
- Mechanism and roles that experiences outside the clinic will play in delivering essential course material
- Further definition on what is to be formally evaluated, etc.
Committee members also said that a list of cases is needed, course content needs to be sharpened, and objectives
not written in correct style. If course is given by a single faculty member, what happens if he unable to
attend. Suggestion was made to have Dr. Pourmand ask his faculty to help out.
Since Dr. Pourmand was not present, it was decided to postpone discussion and ask him complete the Cliinical Course
form which addresses these issues.
- New third year course schedule to accommodate a new Ambulatory Clerkship was proposed. Adding this course will require some
calendar changes. Family Medicine and Medicine lost two weeks each. OB was changed from 6 to 8 weeks. Orientation
moved out of second year and will now be done in third year.
The Pain course did not appear in the new schedule. If anyone has any ideas how to integrate this into any of the courses, please
let Dr. Williams know.
Motion was made to approve the 3rd Year Clerkship Schedule Proposal
- The Ambulatory Care clerkship will be reviewed at next CurrCom meeting on January 8 and presented by Susan Lane.
- The motion was made to require in 2008 passage of Step 2CS exam before students graduate medical school.

Dr. Williams suggested querying the Clerkship Directors as to what is being taught on Ophthalmology. |
