Checklist for the Evaluation Team's Report to the Curriculum Committee
After receiving the completed Course Review Data Form from the course directors, you are asked to review the information contained therein, explore other sources of information (students, faculty in the course, records in the Dean's office, etc.), and then prepare a summary of your finding. The checklist below is intended to guide your efforts. After being shared with and this cover sheet signed by the course director(s), three copies of your report and attachments should be delivered to Dean Elza Mylona's office - HSC L4-184.
Evaluation cover letter including:
a brief description of the course
a summary of course objectives with attention to:
Their language - Do they indicate what a student is to be able to DO at the end of the class?
Their specificity - Are they capable of objective measurement?
Their appropriateness - Do they accord with national curricular standards from the AAMC or professional organizations, NBME exams, courses at other institutions, etc.? Do they include the core
a summary of course evaluations
a summary of the kinds & quality of methods used to evaluate students
a summary of the prior Curriculum Committee review and
changes made in response
a summary of strengths and
weaknesses
suggestions for improvements in the course or activity.
