Residency Program: Curriculum and Conferences

Educational activities are conducted every Wednesday from 8:00 am to 1 pm.  Emergency Medicine Grand Rounds Lecture Series is conducted every first Tuesday of the month from 8:30am to 11:00am.  Residents are excused from clinical activities during these times except when rotating on intensive care services.  The didactic component of our program is designed to cover the “Model of the Clinical Practice of Emergency Medicine” every 18 months.  Each of the core content categories is covered in a modular format over the course of 2-4 weeks.  In addition to covering the core content of emergency medicine, numerous lecture series are planned throughout the year:  Ultrasound series, EMS review, ACLS series, ECG interpretation and Medicolegal lecture series.
