He holds a Master's degree from New York University in Counseling and Psychotherapy, in addition to a MSW in Clinical Social Work from SUNY, Stony Brook. He completed his doctorate in social work in early 1998. His research interests include medical education in the areas of the doctor/patient relationship, human behavior, human sexuality, anxiety and depressive disorders as well as research on depression, loneliness, physician utilization and clinical practice guidelines. He is currently the Director of Human Behavior, a required medical school course for 1st year students.
