Josephine Connolly is a Registered Dietitian and Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Stony Brook University Medical Center, and author of Losing Weight Permanently with the Bull's-Eye Food Guide (Bull Publishing, 2004). Ms. Connolly received her BS Cornell University and her MS from the Pennsylvania State University. She is currently working on her PhD on the topic of the social construction of children's eating patterns. She has been funded by the New York State Department of Health for the last 5 years to improve food environments in community agencies, such as public schools and childcare agencies. Ms. Connolly is an expert in obesity prevention and management, and is currently conducting a clinical trial to explore changes in resting metabolic rate associated with different patterns of weight loss. She also specializes in the nutritional management of diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, eating disorders, and gastrointestinal disorders. Ms. Connolly is the Director of the Stony Brook Dietetic Internship Program and the Department of Family Medicine's Women Infant and Children Nutrition Education and Supplemental Food Program.

Leah Holbrook is a Registered Dietitian and coordinator of a NYSDOH healthy heart grant in the Department of Family Medicine @ SUNY Stony Brook. The Heart Links Project, a community nutrition program, works with school districts, child care centers and transitional housing agencies to improve the food environment through awareness, education and policy/environmental change. In addition, Ms. Holbrook offers private and group nutrition counseling sessions to Stony Brook University students at Student Health Services.

Prior to working at Stony Brook, Ms. Holbrook worked for Cornell Cooperative Extension as a nutrition educator and Nutricise, an online weight management company, as a nutritionist and contributing writer.
