• A "closed-faculty" system, where the same attending is responsible for all team patient care and the teaching experiences. The effort of tracking down multiple attendings is removed.


• Two outstanding teaching hospitals with diverse patient populations. Our hospitals are the only referral hospitals for Suffolk County. Residents learn by seeing patients with both common problems and rare problems, so when they complete their training, they can practice with confidence anywhere, in any situation. We are nationally recognized as leaders in health care, and have state-of-the art centers in cardiac care, oncology, and many other areas.
