The Attending Physicians in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension provide broad expertise in the diagnosis and management of
all aspects of kidney disease, high blood pressure and kidney transplantation in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The
Attending Physicians function as a group practice providing patient care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week year round. The practice is
both consultative and as primary care givers to individuals with chronic kidney disease.

Hospital Service
University Medical Center at Stony Brook constitutes the major site of our inpatient practice. Patients with kidney disease
or kidney related diseases are admitted to the Renal/Endocrine Service which is staffed by the Attending Physicians of the division. In
addition, there is a Consultative Service which provides consultative services to the various Intensive Care Units (ICU) including
Medical ICU, Coronary ICU, Surgical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU the Burns ICU.
Aside from haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, we are also equipped to provide various modalities of continuous haemodialysis
such as continuous venous-venous hemodialysis (CVVHD). We consult on patients suffering from an array of complicated electrolyte
and acid-base disorders.
