The Adult Neurology Residency is a three year program (PGY2-4), designed for trainees who have completed a PGY-1 year in medicine either
at Stony Brook or another accredited institution. The residency prepares the trainee to take the American Board of Psychiatry
and Neurology examination for Board Certification in Adult Neurology.
The first year is entirely clinical and is well divided between inpatient and outpatient activities at the Univeristy Medical Center
and the Northport VA. The second year is divided between adult clinical consult rotations and a combination of pediatric neurology,
psychiatry and electives. The final year
is divided between electives and clinical rotations. Electives opportunities are numerous.

The Adult Neurology Residency Program participates in the National
Resident Matching Program (NRMP) The Application must be submitted through the Electronic
Residency Application System (ERAS).
