The Vice Dean is the senior academic officer responsible for facilitating every facet of education programs under the auspices of the School of Medicine. This officer supervises the activities of the Associate Deans of admissions, student affairs and academic affairs. The Vice Dean of Academic Affairs is directly responsible for several functions:

• Planning, development, coordination, and supervision of all of the educational activities of the school.
• Maintenance of facilities and technological capacity needed for education in the 21st century.
• Development of faculty educators in the classroom and patient-care sites.
• Coordination of productive educational collaboration with our affiliated teaching institutions.
• Oversight of the process of faculty appointment, evaluation, and promotion.
