STUDENT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIZATION

The Student-Community Development Specialization is an innovative academic specialization in the School of Social Welfare. A collaborative effort with the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, it combines principles of social work and student affairs practice to prepare MSW students to bring to higher education a greater focus on the essential elements of community building.  The Specialization emphasizes the context of campus community for enhancing social justice and civic responsibility, promoting student development, and sustaining college student success.  This web powerpoint presentation regarding the specialization provides information about the goals and objectives of the specialization, presents the curriculum structure, and gives interested students a guide and contact information.
